Missing measages

So my phone battery died for about 3 hours. I got home and plugged it in, and although it says I have 5 new text messages, my messages screen is coming up blank. For some reason when I go into my settings>messages it also won't let me turn iMessage back on. Using an iPhone 5c. I have no idea what to do.

Not sure how to make it show on your phone but have you tried logging into iCloud.com on your computer to view messages? At least I think you may be able to view texts on there. It's been awhile since I've logged on from my computer since I've been using my MacBook and my messages appear in the messages app on there

Rosaleehw Lets get those messages working again. Have you restarted your phone since this started? Are your regular text messages going through or is this only impacting iMessages? Have you reset your device settings http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-84742/ ?
