annual upgrade with discount vs new every two discount...

Hello.

 

I got a text message from Verizon a few months back saying that I was eligible for an upgrade on my phone.  I kinda forgot about that until recently when my phone started acting up.  I went into my verizonwireless account online and it says the following:

 

"Eligible for Annual Upgrade with discounted pricing. Two year renewal required.Eligible for New Every Two discount on 1/28/10.Two-year renewal required.Your contract end date is 05/28/10".

 

I'm a bit confused now.  Am I eligible to get a new phone or was that text message from Verizon a mistake/spam?  I'd be happy to renew my contract for another 2 years now and get a new phone if possible.  

 

I tried clicking on the upgrade my phone link online and I only get the month-to-month pricing option available for the phones.

 

Help anyone?

Annual upgrades are offered to phones which price plans are $59.99+ per month but when you do the Annual upgrade, it has to be for another 2 years.

 

NE2 is a additional discount ($50-$30) on top of the mail-in rebate (if you upgrade in stores) or online discount (if you upgrade online) depending on which plan are you on.

 

But in order to use the NE2, if you signed up for 24 months contract, you'll have to wait till your 20th month in order to qualify for the NE2 discount.

 

So if you wait a little longer you'll safe extra $30-$50 but if you really need a phone then you can just go ahead and upgrade it using your annual upgrade.  Keep in mind that when you do the annual upgrade your NE2 will be pushed.
