Why don't I get messages if a picture is attached?

Does anyone know why I do not get messages if a picture is attached? I just got an iPhone 6s on Saturday.

try checking Settings > Messages > and make sure MMS is green (on). if it is contact Verizon customer care 1-800-922-0204 and check to see if somehow a block was placed onto your account

Great phone choice, let's see what's causing the problem! Does the issue occur with standard messages or imessages? Please clarify, do you receive the image but not the text or vice versa?
