Basic service, basic phone--data use?

I have a basic Cosmo 3 phone.  My plan is 700 minutes, with unlimited texting.  No apps.  No wifi.  Just basic phone service   texting.  If I take a pic with my phone and text it, does it use data?  If I receive a texted photo, does it use data?  I don't want to incur extra charges!

No it doesn't count as data. It does use data. Even voice calls use data if you want to be technical.
