How do I transfer pictures from iPad to iPhone 6?

upgraded to iPhone 6 from iPhone 5. Verizon said the iCloud will just download all my pics. Well needless to say no pictures and they wiped my old iphone 5 as I had to trade it in. Is there anyway to get those pics?  I do have some saved on my iPad. How would I transfer these to the new iPhone 6?

WWhen you set up your new phone with your iTunes account, you should set it up as "New, with the backup from ....." Your iPhone 5.   This will restore all content from your previous phone's backup to the new phone.
