My new Microsoft Lumia 950xl is being delivered. Can I activate it on my present Verizon phone number?

Well it time to crap or get off the pot. My beautiful Lumia 950xl is being delivered later today. I presently am using a Note 4 after selling my Lumia Icon recently. There is more discussion regarding the 950 & 950xl and Verizon than I have seen regarding a phone in a long time.

Can I activate this on Verizon. If the answer is no, then off to AT&T after being a Verizon customer since 1995.

No... It has been said in the threads over 100 times. It does not support CDMA or any of Verizon spectrum needed to run.

Many thanks, Was holding out for a change of heart between MS & Verizon but I guess that won't happen.

I said this before in another thread, and is my opinion. The 950/XL is just a windows 10 showcase device and nothing serious from Microsoft. They are going to do a real push with their Surface phone. The reason why they didn't do it now because it wasn't ready and they already had the 950/XL in their portfolio.

Personally that didn't deter me from buying a 950 and I will await the Surface phone.

Just activated my 950XL and using it as I type. So far I'm not disappointed. Signal Strength good so far In my areas. Phone is much bigger than my 928 but weighs the same. There are different views on how the phone looks, to me it looks the same as other Lumia phones. Once I put it in a case, it looks just like my 928 but bigger. Love the Iris scanner. The Windows10 OS so far is fast and fluid. Screen colors and camera is awesome. Haven't tried continuum yet. Setup was easy but took awhile to migrate all my apps. So the question will be, is it worth the cost and moving to Att? That it's totally subjective. For me I wanted a big screen windows phone to replace my 928. Cost wise, the specs say it justifies it's cost. I think $500 would have been more reasonable. Everyone will have to answer for themselves if it's worth moving to att. Again for me, since VZW is not carrying this phone and it is the phone that I wanted, now knowing that I'm not losing any coverage, I'm glad I switched. I didn't want to, but at the time of writing this quick review, I'm satisfied. Time will tell if it was a good move for me as I only have been using the phone and the ATT system for only about any 2 hours. Based on my current experience, I would recommend this phone. My wife now wants me to order her one. Looks like I'll be taking over another

OK, I took another option. Upgraded my HTC8x to MSFT Lumia 735. After verifying that the Windows Device Recovery Tool supports this device and will allow be to go back to 8.1 Denim, I am now updating to Win 10 Mobile as a Windows Insider Slow Ring.

Geebox, did you activate it on VZW network? What is I type? Does this mean you don't get CDMA/LTE connection? Enlighten me please before my 950XL ships December 11th? Thanks in advance.

Phone is useless on VZW network...

This adds some horrible feedback from VZW, Verizon provides further context to the restriction of the Lumia 950 family on its network

This line scare the bejesus out me that VZW is cluessless

Verizon has chosen to not carry the Nokia Lumia 10 in its retail channels.

No, had to activate it at ATT. Won't work on Verizon at this time. T-Mobile and ATT only for now.
