I cannot unlock my old android charge. I have important messages that I need for court and cannot access it. It has the gmail prompt for user and password but I can't remember the one I used for this old phone. My new accounts do not work.
Hugster,Getting the information off your old phone has never been more important. I’m definitely sorry to learn that you have not been able to do so. Does it prompt you with the old email account address? If it does, maybe you can reset the password that way. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be a way that we would have access to what account you had on the phone. You will need to let the phone factory reset itself given you do not know the account log-in info. Enter in the wrong info X-# times until it tells you that it will erase and delete.
I think that was helpful...partially(thank you for that) but I can't get through the password tests. I bought the phone in 2009 and at the time, the salesperson had me create a user name, etc for gmail because I didn't already have an account. They didn't tell me I would need to keep this information for future reference, and since I always used Yahoo (still do), I didn't write it down or anything. Since I have continued to use Samsung phones I have since created new gmail accounts and keep their records. Those accounts are not helpful for this old phone however. The phone number is even the same! I can't belive there is not a way to get in my own phone without losing text messages!
It's a security measure. You must have credentials. You can also try here. http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-104224/
