SIM card causing my phone to freeze and applications to stop.

My SIM card seems to be giving my phone fits, but I went to Verizon today and got a brand new SIM card installed and that didn't fix the problem. Store called tech support and they said do a factory reset which was done and that didn't solve the problem either finally tech support said buy a new phone but I'm not in the market for a new phone right now . When I take the SIM card out and just connect to wifi my phone's runs perfect, as soon as I put the SIM card back in and turn it on it immediately starts to freeze, respond really slow and often cause random applications to stop. Has anyone had this issue and able to fix the problem ? I'm using an android LG lucid 3

the sim card doesn't really control anything on the phone outside of the Verizon signal to it, that's strange. maybe the motherboard/CPU on the phone is glitching when it recognizes the sim

In fact, what fernandobot said is right, but the troubleshootoing you have done tells me it may have something to do with an application. Can you describe for me in further detail what exactly is going on with the device? Once we gather more data, we can work on a resolution together.
