my samsung galaxy s5 phone stopped working again

Last night my phone stopped working with a message "network not available". this has now happened three times in as many months. I was able to use data but not my phone. This is a safety issue in that it is the only phone I have and I need it to work 24/7. I turned my phone off but it did not work again until this morning. Is there a fix for this? Doesn't Verizon have the largest network? What's up?

Staying connected is paramount. We're sorry to hear about this issue. With a recurring problem like this, we'll want to start by taking a look at some settings. In your phone's Settings menu, you'll see an option for Data Usage. Do you have any options checked in boxes on this page? If so, which?

Under Data Usage are three boxes that can be checked. the only one checked

is Mobile data.

Does your device have the most up to date software in it? Have you tried powering the phone off and removing the battery and sim? Have you noticed if this happens in one specific area?

I have my phone set to auto-update verizon software. I have taken the

battery out but not the sim card. I have noticed it mostly in my house but

also out and around in the community, but I am usually home when it

happens.
