I missed a call on 2/24/16, which resulted in a voicemail being left. Since that time, I have checked every day to see if there was a new voicemail. And even though there is a phone icon in the red bar, each time I've checked for a voicemail, the response has been, "No new voicemail".
Today (3/7/16) I learned that the 2/24/16 voicemail was in my inbox.
So, I came to the Verizon site to find out how to resolve this. I attempted to follow the directions given to turn the voicemail notification icon on. I followed the directions exactly. When it came time to press 1 (#4 below), the response came back, "That is not an option."
Your message indicator won't work if you're outside our network or if your message indicator is turned off. To verify that your Voice Mail message indicator is on:
- Enter *VM (*86) on your phone.
- Tap the Call button.
- From the Main Menu, tap 4 for Personal Options.
- Tap 1 for Message Waiting Indicator On/Off.
You’ve successfully turned on your message waiting indicator.
