It looks like the lower end model. They say retail 299 which the regular dark grey is. Verizon built in S2 is 399.99 retail.
It's the 3G model
The 3G version is $349.99. The bluetooth version is $299.99. If you see a $399.99 price tag then you may be looking at the classic.
Where does it say in the promotion that it is the 3g version?
Look at the retail values and the promotion retail values.
Bluetooth is $299.99
3G is $349.99
Classic is $399.99
The promotional advertising says in (retail value $349.99).
I'm not sure where it would be false advertising, they do advertise the retail prices and they match up with the promotion details on the site, and the wearables plan is only 5 dollars a month but I agree it would probably be beneficial to get more people on it.
Bluetooth S2 retails for 299.99 which the promotion is for, sales don't affect the MSRP.
Look at the photo above that's FALSE advertising when you look at their pricing. Regardless of what the rules say it is in fact false advertising. The first part specifically for Samsung shows the same thing. $299.99 while the Verizon 3G version is $299.99 on contract as that's the only way Samsung advertises it So both would be $299.99 in Samsungs View. I believe in another thread similar to this one the rules even at one point had it as $349.99 retail value and later was changed when Samsung own website design changed. I wonder if I posted screenshots in that one.
Anyway it will be the 3G version and if not people will get the 3G version with the help of the FTC.
Also just wanted to add Samsung did change it... They had to or people may mistaken they should get this version
Samsung Gear S2 Classic Black | Samsung US
which Verizon retail price is $399.99
Samsung Gear S2 classic | Verizon Wireless
Since the prices are different on their websites and Samsung did in fact change their website design and some of their pricing they changed the price to reflect their pricing.
Here's where the confusion comes in... Verizon Ups S7 Ante with $100 Bill Credit, Free Smartwatch Offers when reps ask you are getting mixed answer from different parts of the promotions. It's the 3G version you are getting. If you got your phone from in store you get the VR headset promotion early and Verizon will let you have $100 off the contract price ($150 total) for the Gear S2.
Your links don't show that it is the 3G version of the S2 though.
Verizon reps confirmed it is the Bluetooth version only with the S7 promotion.
This is in the Terms and Conditions
Participants who purchase on VZW.com will be able to select one (1) of the following two (2) gifts: either a Samsung Gear VR (est. $100 value) and a 6-game Oculus content bundle (est. $50 value); or (ii) a Samsung Gear S2 (est. $300 value, color selected in Sponsor’s sole discretion; no more than 35,000 Gear S2 watches are available in this Offer).
Look at their own advertising online and then look at the values of the watch prices on Verizob wireless... just saying.
Screen shots of it have been posted.
It's not a Verizon promotion though it's samsung. Everywhere I seen it said a 300 value. You had to know there would be a catch cause why would they give away a free 3g watch? They probably can't sell them Bluetooth ones and they knew verizon would be the last to release so make it sound like it's a great deal. When I ordered in store the guy goes you can get the watch and it's cool cause if you forget your phone it's no big deal. But he also lied because I was not eligible in store
No... the Gear S2 is Verizon store promo. The Gear VR is Samsung promo.
Also I think you answered your own question. The 3g is 299 ON CONTRACT. They always lower the price on something when you sign a contract with them because its another line. Its a Samsung promotion so they go off their prices
Verizon refers to the watches as
Samsung Gear S2
Samsung Gear S2 Bluetooth.
THis is how they make the distinction on the website, so the offer has to be for the 3G version. Its a smart move. They need to move them out and they can add a monthly charge for the wearable onto your account For 2 years.
FYI, you have to be on a compatible account to use a connected wearable. Won't work with prepaid. Not sure if it will with unlimited.
Scroll up man. I have screen shots showing the retail value from Verizon as well as their pricing without contract. It's a Verizon promotion for the S2. If it was a Samsung promotion then it will be all the same across the carriers and 3rd party retailers. Samsung wouldn't have said that everyone has their own inventory aside from the 300K from Samsung (they even said they actually gave more). Some food for thought.
Received my phone yesterday and immediately signed up only for the Gear 2 deal. They sent me a confirmation email with a link to the following terms and conditions:
https://promos.samsungpromotions.com/gearvr/Rules
From Samsung Rules:

Only VZ watch I see online with full retail price is the following:
Samsung Gear S2 | Verizon Wireless
I received mine today and it is the 3G version
It is the SM-R730V.. The BT grey model is SM-R720
So now can I say I tell the people who kept arguing it had to be the BT model... I told them so?
The 3G version has a slightly larger screen but is almost twice as thick as the regular BT version
When did you submit your info
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
My first claim was submitted on 3/9.
My "check status" page was stated "shipment date: pending" until the day after it was shipped and then it was changed to "shipping date-4/8" when it was already en-route....although it was originally shipped on 3/30 and I would have not known unless fedex notified me of a pending delivery.
Fedex tracking shows It was scheduled to be delivered 3/31 but didn't arrive until 4/2 for some reason. There has been no update on my other submissions yet.
anyone get any updates
not a darn thing yet still says estimated shipping date pending. I compulsively check it all day now that I know its the 3g version
Mine showed up this afternoon! :smileyhappy:
did they ever update your shipping date? May I ask when you submitted your info?
I submitted the info on March 9, when I received my S7. I received an email that the submission was approved on March 31. Received the tracking info yesterday, April 4 and received the device today, April 5.
In looking at the FedEx tracking info:
March 30 - Shipment info sent to FedEx
April 1 - Departed Indianapolis, IN
April 4 - Departed St. Paul, MN
April 5 - Arrived at local FedEx facility (and subsequently delivered)
