All my text messages disappeared when Marshmallow 6.0 update was installed.

Yes the Verizon Cloud is on the phone, but it looks like it backed up everything except the text messages.
I now see that all my contact phone numbers and phone number activity have disappeared. The contact names and emails are there but no phone numbers. Also all information listed in the quick memo app has disappeared. How do I get this info back or uninstall marshmallow back to lollipop 5.1?
That has to be annoying. Have you checked what was backed up by checking your cloud content from a computer?
