bluetooth not sending text messages to car after marshmallow

I have a toyota tacoma and my text messages use to be read/synced before i updated my phone to marshmallow. now it doesn't, i do a lot of driving and not have text messages read while driving is very dangerous. please let me know what verizon and google are doing to fix this regression in bluetooth technology.

Handsfree in your Tacoma is a must have convenience. I’ll be more than happy to assist you. Compatibility is everything when it comes to software. What year is the vehicle. It’s sounding as if the vehicle software may be in need of an update as well. This is normally done at the dealer level, but let’s be sure.
