i have a Kyocera brigadier phone and it shows I have a new text message notification but I do not have any unread text messages so how do I get rid of that notification.

Download go sms. What happened is a text message is unread but you can not see it in your list. Once you download it will show up. Ironically my hidden unread text message was from Verizon and it was to let me know my messages are now synchronized with all of my devices. A new wonderful feature they added on 1/12...yea.
P.s. I have a Kyocera brigadier also. This happens to all verizon phones though because the message app can't handle a message coming in at the same time you are sending one.
Go sms has a green conversation bubble and a smaller orange one as it's logo.
