I have made sure auto rotate was selected, tried rebooting and still nothing. Can't get screen to rotate in any mode and the g-sensor will not calibrate as well.
Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Maybe do a chat with an LG rep and see if it is a known issue. LG: Mobile Devices, Home Entertainment & Appliances | LG USA

Sorry to hear about trouble getting the phone to auto-rotate. I know this is a major part of the device's functionality, so we want this fixed for you ASAP. When did this begin happening? Any new apps installed around that time?
