WP7 on 4g - VZW DROPS THE BALL AGAIN?

Hey Verizon,

Incase you didn't notice, by the time you roll out what everyone wants, it's old. So why do it again with the Windows Phone 7? Is your CEO retarded? Must be because even with a great network, your phone choices tend to be older and not trailblazing at all.

If I don't see the WP7 and/or iPhone in my list of choices Q1 2011, I'm out...screw your CDMA and LTE non-standardized networks. If you don't play the game with the other folks in terms of network technologies, the least you can do is offer phone choices...and 1 billion different Androids doesn't = choices.

A tad bitter are we? Verizon is not to blame for the delay in WP7. Microsoft is the company that decided to delliver that OS on GSM based devices first. Verizon for years has had to suffer a bit of a device delay as the penalty for providing a superior network. Most manufacturers tend to produce the GSM version of devices first since it is more widely used globally. That being said, that will all change when LTE becomes the standard.

As far as the Iphone is concerned, those rumors have been around for years. Maybe Verizon gets it, maybe they don't. But I would feel safe in saying that if they do it would only be as an LTE device.

Well, I've got years and years on the VZW network and that I've got is old devices with an expensive bill. I do love that no matter where I go the service is there...but we all know why phone companies make the devices for GSM first...because everyone BUT Verizon uses it.

A "bit of a device delay" is a nice way to state it...more like "late and maybe never" describes the turn to market rate we're dealing with.

Anywho...I'll ride this year out with my brick...I've had it for 4 years now and don't need to rush into a Droid since it's the only choice over a BB.

I simply wish VZ would state...hey guys...we'll have the WP7 and iPhone summer 2011 for sure...but they can't and they don't and here we are :smileysurprised: )

I find it hard to believe that in 4 years you haven't seen a phone worthy of upgrading to. What device do you currently carry? As far as the Droids, I feel they are the best phones on the market today. Verzon does offer other smartphones, including Palm (web OS) Blackberry (RIM) and Windows Mobile (WM 6.5).

It is not so much Verizon and such as those GSM devices can be sold in other countries from the getgo. There is a much larger market with the rest of the world is involved.

sprint already has a WP7 announced the Pro7, with the slideout qwerty...they are CDMA...so where is Verizon....

So basically, you're whining because of your entitlement issues? WP7 has been out what a few days? And you're already on here complaining that you don't have it because it's on another network? If you haven't gotten a new phone in 4 years, then i don't see how WP7 is going to revolutionize your mobile experience so much moreso than any of the Android, WebOS or even BB offerings. If you want WP7, then leave. Plenty of people complained about not having a touchscreen blackberry, or not having a droid phone when VZW put them on the map. Go get the phone and then you will have your pretty WP7 for 4 years and by then will be saying "ZOMG when is my service going to get better? I have this great phone but I'm still on EDGE in 99% of the country." To each their own, but stop complaining and make the choice that best suits your needs and wait patiently like everyone else.

Gee whiz. These forums are fun--kids say the darndest things. Firstly can anyone show me where Windows Phone 7 is 4g?
And the sales seem abysmal. Did you follow the Kin's saga? That was a very new phone and no one else had it.

imo, the later release dates have produced better phones and it seems that the networks rotate anyway. In the case of Palm, Verizon got better phones by being later. In the case of Android, Verizon certainly got better phones than Sprint. Would you always want to be the guinea pig? Look how many flops there are. In Apple's case, they certainly wanted a lot of money. It's Verizon's right not to pay. I've heard a few complaints about reception, dropped calls, etc. and not just on AT&T.

If you owned Verizon and had to choose a technology, what would you choose? GSM that everyone else has or CDMA that gives you the better reception you need for a cell phone? Do you not think that is why they are the biggest?
