Just a quick question. If I were to purchase a Pixel XL from the Google store or an Iphone from apple, would they be able to activate them on my account without changing my number or losing anything?

Yes you can. The best way to activate the device is to move the SIM card from your current phone and install it in the new phone. This only works if the devices use the same SIM card size.
