Is it the same as for iPhone?
By backing up, is that in regards to content stored on the iPad, or, something else? Content, such as pictures, videos and documents, can be backed up to a Cloud Service provider. Apple, of course, has iCloud, Microsoft has OneDrive and Google has its own services as well.
That's a great question, Flatpkr. But, yes you would follow the same directions to back up your iPad as for your iPhone.
