Apple Watch series 3 gps +cellular

I recently bought the gps plus cellular Apple Watch. Everything seemed good when setting up and activating on my Verizon but I can’t seem to message or make calls using cellular on watch.  It only works when my phone is present even though the phone is always on and connecte.

That's not the negative experience I want you to have with the Apple watch you purchased, Carhuf76. Let's get the Watch working to be able to get those calls and text messages. Are you using a bluetooth connection with another device? Did you confirm the settings are correct on the device?
