What are the differences between the 3 network technology settings?
Which ones are you referring to?
Global, LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UMTS
I apologize for the errors. I meant to say, "What are the differences between the 3 network technology settings?" I have the 7730L Jetpack. The options given are: Global, LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UMTS.
An easy way to understand the difference between Global, CDMA and GSM/UMTS is to view page 114 in the 7730 User Guide:
https://ss7.vzw.com/is/content/VerizonWireless/Devices/Mifi/userguide/verizon-jetpack-mifi-7730l-ug.pdf
Bands:
LTE US – B2/B4/B5/B13/B66
LTE Global – B3/B4/B7/B20/B28
CDMA 1x/EV-DO rA – BC0/BC1
HSPA+, /UMTS – B1/B2/B5/B8
GPRS/EDGE: B2/B3/B5/B8
sGPS/XTRA capable
What you can see here is that each network technology uses a different range of cellular bands. This ties into the kind of cellular technology (4G LTE, 3G, 1x, etc.) as well as the general performance in a given area. As you roam around from one area to another you may find that some bands perform better than others. You may also want to migrate from one band to another for your own personal troubleshooting purposes.
If there is no immediate concern then you can leave your device on Global and it should not cause you any problems.
