I started getting a triangle icon on the top status bar to the right of 4G and above the strength bars. What does that mean?

Had the same thing appear on my phone but restarted and went away.
Depends on the phone but on many phones means background data is restricted (as it means this on mine)and on a select few shows as a roaming indicator.
When I come indoors I get an "R" for a few seconds then it changes to the little triangle. I'm guessing that the "R" means Roam and the triangle means you are on the extended network. The triangle stays on mine until I go outside. I'm on the Prepaid plan on a Moto G7.
