We need to be able to block more than 10 numbers

Thanks to Digital Voice's Caller ID blocking features I can now block telemarketers from calling me or even disturbing me by ringing my phone. The problem is that there are so many of them. I have anonymous call rejection on but there are still more than 10 telemarketing numbers that call me (perhaps because I've had this number for over 30 years).

Is there a chance that Verizon will raise the limit of telephone numbers that can be blocked?

Currently there is no information or time frame for that kind of update to the digital voice service. For the marketing, be sure your phone number is registered on the no call list, if you haven't already done so.

I've been told that it would be too expensive for Verizon to upgrade its network to allow Caller ID customers to be able to block more than 10 numbers.

So, how about this: allow Caller ID customers to block calls that identify themselves as "UNAVAILABLE" or "UUU" or the like? Verizon already allows Caller ID customers to block anonymous calls but not callers who "identify" themselves as UNAVAILABLE and UUU. Can that be so hard?

Okay Its 2013 now -- 3 yrs later.... We REALLY need more than 10 number maximum. I have been on DNC since day one and still pesty calls come through!!! I sometimes even tell them "I AM ON DNC" and still get the calls. Come on Verizon at least maximize to 15. That would help some. 🙂

Lately we have been bombarded with unwanted calls. I've started to rotate the call block numbers. Verizon needs to allow an unlimited amount of phone numbers to be blocked. If they don't want to bother or decide to charge extra for this, I'll see what Optimum has to say next time my contract is up.

With the technology available today, Verizon has no excuse to not be able to block an unlimited amount of numbers.

Agreed - should be more than 10. Unlimited would be best. Also, the ability to selectively block calls with "Out of Area" or "Unknown Caller" etc. would be great.

The ONLY way they are going to make it an actual USABLE feature is if we pay EXTRA for it. Trust me, Verizon will find a way to make $ on a feature that has been GROSSLY limited since day 1. It's an easy fix that they could have taken care of a long time ago. Why ELSE haven't they done so? hmmmm???

Or use NOMOROBO.com. Its a free service and way more effective than any current paid offering.

Maybe Verizon would have to replace millions or even billions of dollars of infrastucture? I can live with 10 and not have a ridiculous upgrade fee added to my bill.
