I switched from Xfinity to Verizon 5G Home Internet in March after seeing a promo offering a Nintendo Switch and a choice between a $200 Target gift card or a Chromebook. I confirmed this with a live agent on 3/25 before signing up.
In May, I received two emails confirming that my offers were ready to redeem: one for the Nintendo Switch and another for either the Target gift card or the Chromebook. I successfully redeemed the Switch but ran into issues trying to claim the Chromebook. On 7/15, after multiple attempts, I contacted support, and they informed me that the Chromebook was out of stock, offering a $350 Samsung E-Gift Card instead, which I accepted. However, I never received it.
I escalated the issue on 7/30 and again on 8/15. A manager assured me I’d get a resolution in 3-5 business days, but, unsurprisingly, that didn’t happen.
Today, 9/23, I reached out again via chat to avoid wasting more time on the phone. The first agent said they’d resolve it within 2-3 hours but abandoned the chat after 30 minutes. The second agent did the same after briefly “looking into it.” Finally, after a 2.5-hour phone call and being passed between three people, the manager informed me I wasn’t eligible for the Chromebook as the promo supposedly only allowed either the Nintendo Switch or a choice of the Target gift card/Chromebook, not both.
What’s incredibly frustrating is that no one previously mentioned this restriction. I’ve had more frustrating interactions with Verizon support in the last three months than I ever had with Xfinity in six years. I even offered to send an article from "The Mobile Report" explaining the promo, but the manager insisted I misunderstood it.
I feel completely gaslit and misled by Verizon, and I’m still waiting for a resolution. This is unacceptable.
Has anyone else been able to successfully receive both the Nintendo Switch and either the Chromebook or $200 Target gift card from this promo? Curious if others had a similar experience or if I’m the only one dealing with this.
