Android Market wont update

So i've had this phone since the first week of its release and the Android Market has yet to update. Ive talked to a verizon rep and he told me it should automatically update and that was 2 weeks ago. Also I went on the android market online and looked at trouble shooting and did all the steps and still nothing. Does anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried settings>applications>market and cleared the cache? I know in the past some people had to reinstall the marketplace. Last time I posted a download link it was edited if I remember right, so just hit up google from your phone to find it.

Yeah I have done that about 3 times and nothing.

ive never had atuomatic updates ....even when i choose the option when downloading an app i still have to go into my apps to check for updates also this is the only time i get an alert which kinda defeats the purpose of alerting me if ive already checked

I have seen this issues with apps installed on SD Card, have you tried moving any apps on card back to device?

Humm? The OP's message reads to me like their actual "Android Market" application isn't automatically updating and it is an older version.

To the OP,
What version of Market is installed on your phone? Go to settings > applications > manage applications > all tab > scroll down to the Market app.

For reference, my Market app is version 2.3.6 currently.

You are correct Ann, after reading the post again I think they are speaking of the app itsefl not th apps from Market.. On that not I have to ask, are you running a official build of the OS?

Yeah the actual market place wouldn't update. As I was writing this reply the market place finally updated. Thanks for the help
