if it autosync'd from your contacts then if you go to your my verizon account on a pc, they should all be there. you are actually doing this through verizons backup method. when it auto syncs byt the method mentioned above, i believe it is backing up the contacts to your my verizon account. go there and make sure they are there. if they are then you're ready to download them to your iphone.
You guys are talking about backup assistant right? Is there an app for BA on the iPhone?
The original Moto Droid isn't compatible with backup assistant. It's supposedly auto synching with Google contacts, but I checked two recently added phone numbers and they weren't included in my Google contacts. I just downloaded Companion Link to synch with Outlook/Google. It's the only way I could figure out how to do this. It's a 14 day free trial. Since my iPhone is out for Delivery and my Droid has been sold on eBay, I don't see myself needing this app again after today. Perfect.

There is something similar (from what i've heard) known as verizon contact transfer on the iPhone. On other smart phones I think it is built in or something. Making a universal app however would have probably fixed all the confusion

Is it the "My Verizon" app? I see the transfer app but its only for "back assistant" phones.

right.....but every phone except the motorola droids have backup assistant. for example...on any other phone backup assistant automatically sends your contants to your "my verizon" online account. so right now, i could go to the verizon website and sign into my verizon account and all of my contacts are there. if you have a motorola droid, you don't have backup assistant.
Ya, i knew that. I was asking if the "my verizon" app is the app that someone, I thought you, said is another app we may be able to. I guess not. lol. They have been automatically synced to my gmail...this is gonna be annoying!
Mine went to my gmail also, i only have one contact with back up assistant.
I am assuming you have them in google
go here if so Very easy
The quickest way I found was to add your gmail account under Mail, Contacts, Calendars..the trick being that you need to add it as an exchange account...don't click on the gmail option. Put in your user name and password. Then you need to put m.google.com in as the server. It will then give you the option to sync your contacts, calendars and mail. Very easy and they all came across. If you also have another outlook account or other contacts that you are adding then you add to the Iphone, not replace the contacts. It is an option that comes up.
Hope this helps.!
IF you ever sync'd your phone with Google then all you need to do is turn on Google sync within iTunes. It will sync your contacts from Google servers to your iPhone(it's only one way).
I am not sure if Motorola has an export option which you could export your contacts to SD card, load it up on Outlook or Adress book, and then sync your iPhone.
, my bad...I had Droid X and it was on there. The google way
