Phone barely a week old, dropped once and screen is GONE - ugggh!

No insurance - so who or what is the best route to screen repair? So disgusted, and I love this phone but the screen on it SUCKS! I had a Nexus 4 for over two years, glass front and back, dropped 3 times, not even a scratch! This phone fell as I was bending over - so fell from lower than WAIST height - fell out pocket onto floor face down, and glass broke and shattered on one side - CANNOT use it at all now. It's working underneath, but I can't use the touch screen. Bad build quality. My cousin has an iPhone and it's a mess - completely shattered screen and he's using it like nothing is wrong.

I was praising LG G2 up until this happened. Now, I tell everyone, DON'T DO IT! It can't even take a LOW position drop.

Anyway... I'm in Colorado - any advice on best place for repair?

you can try going back to verizon under their 14 day policy, but i doubt they will do anything. reapirsuniverse.com sells replacement screens, lcd/ digitizer combos for like $100 if you want to try and repair it yourself. They have how to videos on there also so you can see what your getting into,

I'm sorry your phone has a shattered screen Aswann. I can understand your frustration. We are unable to repair screens, the best option is to replace the phone. We ca take a look at your account to see if you qualify for any promotions.

Had a business trip and have been away from home. :smileysad: Thankfully I had a Nexus 7 Tablet to fall back on because the phone was a solid let down. I'm still spinning from disbelief over how EASILY that phone shattered. Unreal. Yes, now that I'm back, I need to know how I can be assisted with this phone situation.

The engineer, designer or whoever came up with the glass front for that phone should be reprimanded. WHY would such an inferior glass be used for a phone? Total and complete let down.

Verizon Wireless Customer Support - I plead for assistance - my phone was purchased and delivered on July 7th - 14 days ago, day 9 rendered useless by ONE (1) LOW drop. Please help - restore my pride in this phone and company please.

My husband has the Galaxy S4 and he is on his third screen, needing the fourth. His experience is similar to yours. I have taken his to a place called Gaming Generations, which is a local new/used video game/console/movies/repair store. The first replacement was $100, the next was $20, so we were still under the deductible for the insurance with 2 screen replacements. I dropped the insurance on his phone then. You should be able to find someplace local to you (I am in Wisconsin and I don't think Gaming Generations has any stores outside of my area).

My husband ordered a screen off eBay for my son's iPhone last winter and tried replacing it himself with a Youtube video guide. It didn't work very well, since there are so many delicate little parts in there, so I ended up taking it in for a new screen and that's when I found out it's actually cheaper to replace the screen and not have to wait for a replacement phone (which may or may not be the same as the old one, plus you have to activate it and transfer everything over). They had the new screen on in about 30 minutes.

You can't return a phone with damage like that under the Worry Free Guarantee. The phone has to be in "like new" condition.

I can understand how frustrating it is to have such a new phone be damaged within the first two weeks Aswann. You can try filing claim through your homeowner's or renter's insurance. Otherwise, if you paid for device with a credit card, the card may have an insurance that can cover this as well. There's really no way for us to replace at discounted rate. I'm really sorry.

Not the most honest thing, but I believe you have 30 days to add insurance to a phone you just bought.

Sometimes, though, when adding coverage at a time later than point of purchase Verizon/Assurion requires proof the phone is STILL in good condition before giving that coverage.

Thanks everyone - I'm just going to get it fixed. However after this contract is over, won't be buying another LG G2 - no way. One drop, from lower than waist high bending over, and it couldn't take the drop. Glass gone, and no way to use it afterwards.

Never LG again...

My wife has dropped her G2 a few times...nothing (thankfully!). I guess she's just gotten lucky...or you just were unlucky.
