I don't want to believe something sinister is going on, but I have noticed anytime I watch Netflix or Hulu, my LTE goes the way of the Dodo and I am stuck on 3G.  Primarily, the only two places I use my phone is at home (Avon, OH)  and work (Lorain, OH).   Bother areas are

Be strong 4G cvera

My wonderful 4g phone stopped mid message.

It was supposed to say both areas offer strong 4g coverage, so I'm at a loss as to how  I keep losing 4G when I'm paying for it.

what kind of phone do you have? Try powering off, pulling out sim card for a few minutes, put it back and power back on. and try connected again. if you have an iphone do that and also go to your settings>general >reset> reset network settings.

You could also try simply unistalling the apps that this is happening with and then reinstall and see if that doesnt make a difference either

Already thought about pulling the Sim card.  This idea was mentioned in a different post elsewhere.  The funny thing is when I did that, the phone started in 4G, but dropped to 3G no more than 30 seconds later.  I hadn't even started Netflix yet.

I've also tried the app removal game and done a factory reset, added no apps, went to you tube after reboot, started a video, and after it started playing...

drops to 3G.

In my research of this issue, I have never read about this happening to a tiered data plan or Share Everything customer.  If this is happening to you as well,  then please speak up, so that we can diagnose the root problem... Is it hardware or software.

As to which phone I have, I have the new Galaxy Note 3.

Hi michaeljtimko,

Let's get to the bottom of this signal issue! Your Smartphone will always connect to the strongest signal and while it may start connection on 4G, it may switch to 3G if the signal is stronger in a particular location. You mentioned that this issue mainly occurs in you home and your work. If this issue only occurs indoors, then structural interference may be the culprit for this behavior. Test your connection outdoors to confirm a steady 4G signal.

I just read on the Web that Verizon's CFO is quoted as saying that a 4G to 3G network shift is caused when area towers are over taxed.  That being said, it looks Verizon is doling out AWS spectrum so far to six major cities  (New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Los Angeles).

Now, if my local area is over extended and we're experiencing network shifts & slower datathrough put, my question is when will North East Ohio gets its AWS spectrum to fix our network problems?

I would like to have someone from Verizon answer this as they sometimes peek in here to see what were complaining about.
