4G LTE Network

Will the 3G phones still work when the entire nation goes completely 4G LTE, or we going to have to buy NEW PHONES?

And when will it be completely 4G?

Sure hate to buy $200 or $300 phones and then want be able to use them.

You don't have anything to worry about. It'll be a few years before the 4g network has the country covered. And then as I understand it Verizon won't turn their 3g network off for as much as decade to come.  I don't figure they will for 5 or 6 years no matter what.  What ever phone you buy today or anytime soon would be worn out by the time they switch it off.

I'm disappointed that the high end phones now can't take advantage of it, when I was with t-mobile and they rolled out the hspa+ majority of the older phones were backwards compatible and could take advantage of the new speeds.  From what I read my droid 2 global won't be able to have fun with it, though it could of been capable of it.

T-Mobiles HSPA+ was backward compatible with it's older phones because all it did was increase the capacity of the existing 3G network.  LTE speeds will beat HSPA+ hands down because it is a completely different from 3G. To access the 4G LTE network, you must have a phone with a 4G radio inside.
