A quick Google search shows tons and tons of angry customers without 4G service that just aren't getting answers. I had to spend 45 minutes on the phone last night, first with a tech rep who thought I should just turn it on and off and remove the LTE sim card, before sending me to someone who knew what he was doing, that essentially did nothing but make me do the same thing, and then tell me he was alerting the "Network Team" -
Still nothing back, still no 4G service, but the worst part? Not a word from Verizon. No official announcements, not even on their own discussion forum? I get if they don't want to look bad for potential new customers but come on, you have how many thousands of people without service now and NO update? Going on 15+ hours since this started? That's ridiculous.

I think they might be. I have the $20 unlimited Text/Data plan from years ago. I just checked my next billing statement and it still shows as active, but no charge is listed. Just the standard line charge is listed as being charged.

I have done that multiple times, every time I hear 4G is restored but I'm not getting signal. I go so far as to turn the phone off pull the battery and sim card, count to 100 and put it all back together and still nothing. I know the tricks. My Eris was the worst at needing a reset to function.

Still out here in Durham NC also. This must be quite a dramatic failure. It is poor customer relations for VZ not to publish updates on the issue.

Still no service at all (no 4G, no 3G, no 1X, no phone) since Tuesday.
I was in DC Tues - Thur and am now in NYC with no change, so it definitely is not a local thing.

Up in NH and was getting the SIM Card Authorization Failed - Call customer service.
I did that early into the outage and the tech person said it may or may not work, but for me to power down my phone, pull the SIM card and reinstall it and the restart my phone. At the time I did that, it did not help.
After the outage was being reported as over, I still had that indicator, so I re-tried pulling the SIM card and it re-set.
Hope it works for you!!

Maybe this is what they call "normal" now.
Is 4G service still spotty? I assume the outage is responsible for the Galaxy Nexus delay and it's really getting annoying. I want to get the clock rolling on my new contract and I really don't care if I have to use 3G for a while.

I'm in Georgetown, Texas near Austin. I seem to have been out of 4G since yesterday. Does anyone know how to tell when this is happening and when it is fixed?

No service of any sort since Tuesday on my two-week-old Razr.
Called customer service, went through the pull-sim-reset-restart, which of course didn't work. Then tried a factory reset, but the phone was unable to re-activate because it couldn't connect to the Google servers.
I am on the road so I took my phone to a local Verizon store. They replaced the SIM card but this didn't help.
I'll have to take it back to the independent retailer where I purchased it for an exchange.
Verizon's lack of communication on this issue is extremely disappointing.

Their main Satellite (VR-0047RXGQ) crossed path with (Unknown Object). Salletite crashed 5 Miles west of Bermudas Triangle. This comes from annonymous sources not me. They temporarily disabled all triangulated Satellites from the VR-0047RXGQ to further investigate the event by probably third parties maybe US Government. Other sources say it involves an integration they are working on with Microsoft, none of this is "official" as per say, and maybe even part made up fiction but i thought it was interesting to post for all of you to read.

Dec 21 2012 from 11:00PM - now (around 12:30AM) I have not had data service in SF and neither has my friend. I have a Galaxy Nexus and he a Droid Charge. We've both rebooted, disabled 4G, etc all with no result. Call Verizon, oh their closed. Typical. What recourse do we have? Just whine on some forum?
Is there any website where Verizon publishes outages? Why do I have to search Twitter to see if others are having the issue?
When I had T-Mobile their data service always worked - sure, coverage might not have been fantastic, but at least I could use data when I walked outside- even my buddies with AT&T have consistent data service (slow, painful but it works at least). I'm becoming more and more frustrated. Half the issue is the devices, the other half (like tonight) is just the service - I can't even get 3G Data.
Dear Verizon, wake up. People rely more on DATA than they do on voice! If you could make data work as often as voice does, that would be a goal to reach for.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing problems...
Well, not glad really since I don't get service right now, just glad that the problem isn't related to me watching Netflix for 2 hours. =P
Unlimited data... but you never know with Verizon...
