A quick Google search shows tons and tons of angry customers without 4G service that just aren't getting answers. I had to spend 45 minutes on the phone last night, first with a tech rep who thought I should just turn it on and off and remove the LTE sim card, before sending me to someone who knew what he was doing, that essentially did nothing but make me do the same thing, and then tell me he was alerting the "Network Team" -
Still nothing back, still no 4G service, but the worst part? Not a word from Verizon. No official announcements, not even on their own discussion forum? I get if they don't want to look bad for potential new customers but come on, you have how many thousands of people without service now and NO update? Going on 15+ hours since this started? That's ridiculous.

Not getting any data in Port Townsend, WA. I have tested on both a Galaxy Nexus and a Droid RAZR. Have done the whole rebooting thing, still nothing.
Thankfully I'm at home and have wifi.
Is this really "The Network I Deserve"?

Out in Riverside County California aswell.
Aside from power-cycling, pulling the battery, and jumping in and out of airplane mode, I wanted to try pulling the SIM card out and force the phone to authenticate on the CDMA network. I was very surprised that phone would not grab any network connection without the SIM.
One of my colleagues is using a 3G smartphone and is perfectly fine. Others around me are with other carriers and are not experiencing any issues either.
My biggest complaint at this point (just under the fact that there has been little to not communication about the problem which seem sto have started on the east coast 12/7) is that there seems to be a big lack of contigency planning for this new LTE schema. I don't see why any of the new LTE devices can't be switched over to use CDMA-only without the use of a SIM card.
Guess I'll have to get my old Droid out of the closet and bring it back to life. Thanks Verizon!

Yep, have the Rezound here in Harrisburg, PA and haven't had connection since about 1:30 am here. Gotta love VZW and their all encompassing 'reliable' LTE. Gonna bring the OG Droid out of retirement and keep it with me from now on. At least I know I can always get good connection with that beast.

UPDATE: Just spoke with VZW customer support representative. As of 6:28 AM Eastern time, they are confirming a nationwide outage effecting all 4G phones, and to expect little to no network connectivity. There is no ETA for resolution, of course.

In Wayne, MI. 4G and 3G service has been down for hours. None of the rebooting tricks have worked. Doubt if we see any recompensation on our bills.

You know Verizon, it is common practice in the IT industry to notify your users when you experience an outage so they are not left wondering if there is something wrong with their equipment. People might be a little more understanding if you didn't leave them completely in the dark for hours while they frantically pull their batteries and SIM cards, perform multiple restarts, cycle in and out of airplane mode, etc. in an attempt to regain their data connection. A simple headline on the VZW home page stating that you are currently experiencing difficulties with your LTE data service might go a long way toward calming many irate customers and it would almost certainly prevent many customers from picking up the phone to call tech support.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
