A quick Google search shows tons and tons of angry customers without 4G service that just aren't getting answers. I had to spend 45 minutes on the phone last night, first with a tech rep who thought I should just turn it on and off and remove the LTE sim card, before sending me to someone who knew what he was doing, that essentially did nothing but make me do the same thing, and then tell me he was alerting the "Network Team" -
Still nothing back, still no 4G service, but the worst part? Not a word from Verizon. No official announcements, not even on their own discussion forum? I get if they don't want to look bad for potential new customers but come on, you have how many thousands of people without service now and NO update? Going on 15+ hours since this started? That's ridiculous.

This sort of thing should not happen. With the size of VZW, they should (and do) plan for things like this. I know they'll never tell us what really happened, but I certainly hope it brings a few things into the picture that they need to reconsider - infrastructure wise.

I am in greenville, sc and have the galaxy nexus. I have had no data period until i switched the phone to 3G only connection and now i at least have that. But if i am on the LTE/CDMA setting i will get nothing. must be some sim card issue. I have tried rebooting and everything. They only fix for me it to switch to 3G only.

8:15 in Akron, Ohio and still no data service (4G, 3G or even 1G!). **bleep** Big Red?! Wasn't your commercial's tagline "the nation's fastest, most reliable 3G network."? Please tell me that we will at least see some sort of a refund for the lost outage.

I find it humorous that they can censor your comment, but can't come on and acknowledge the problem and give us some "real" information. SMH

Data service in 3G at least is back in New Bedford, MA area just before 8:00 AM this morning. Can verify outage from 3:30 this AM to about 8:00 this morning. 4G is sometimes avail. in this area but only sporadically - not officially "up" here yet - probably in testing stage. No OTA update showing here yet. Good Luck out there and Happy Holidays.

No 4G or 3G since at least 3:30am in Des Moines, IA. Got a flash of 1X service around 6:15am for less than a minute, then nothing again until about 7:30 got 3G, now just flipped to 4G. Hope it lasts! I'd even take at least 3G until it's resolved, but I can't go without 4G OR 3G.

Back in central Iowa too... I don't think these outages have anything to do with equipment or lines to regions... My guess is it has something to do with a back-end server that validates the SIM card that identifies the phone to the 3G & 4G network...
Could Verizon be as silly as to have deployed a mission critical application on a single server without redundancy, or worse, on a Microsoft platform?
