I've had my Galaxy Nexus for a few days and love it! But now I'm experiencing changes in the service. It goes from 4G to 3G and sometimes to no service at all. I have 4G service in my area and my phone is still on 3G. I didn't have any service at all last night and then this morning it was still out and now it's on 3G. So i looked online and i see that I'm not the only one who is having this problem!

For those stating 4g is up in the Chicago area - its not everywhere. I'm about 40 minutes north of the city and I still can only get 3g and thats if I switch to CDMA only. If I got to CDMA/lte I will get nothing. I try every once and a while and its the same. So "Chicago area" may be Chicago proper but not the burbs.

If this is an eHRPD related outage again, you can generally get a consistent 3G connection at least by finding a way to switch to 3G / CDMA only mode on your phone. On the Rezound you can go to Settings / Wireless & Networks / Mobile networks / Network mode / CDMA only. On the Thunderbolt, you can do this to switch to CDMA only. I'm sure other phones are similar. Hope this helps!
*edit* Sorry for the duplication of cpodraza's post immediately before mine...and does appear to be eHRPD-related since this seems to fix it.

New radio updates are being sent out. It should hopefully resolve many of the Nexus' reception issues.
