I was shocked and amazed to see the data icon on my htc thunderbolt switch to 4G tonight. I decided to do a speed test and got a phenomenal 16mbps download and a fairly usual 66kbps upload. Downloaded a few apps and looked at some videos as a real-world test. I was surprised at how fast it was. My concern is, was this merely a fluke, a test, or a mistake? I was in the New River Valley area of Virginia and to the best of my knowledge there are currently no plans for 4G service in this area in the near future.
Are you near enough to Blacksburg, VA to connecting to their 4G LTE network? It went live last week.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
