4G promised to me by the end of the year - so much for promises

So I guess I'm the fool. When I went in the Verizon store they had a big map of coverage by the end of 2011. The woman who sold me the phone said I would definitely have coverage by the end of 2011. I still don't have it. It's very close though, like 3 miles from my house. Is there any way to find out when the future expansion will take place in 2012? I looked at the map for 2012 and it just says, coming soon. Is there any other information about 2012 implementation? We are kind of close to 2012. Or does Verizon treat this like Fios, you get it when you get it and we will not tell you anything about future expansion? I saw the email about complete coverage by the end of 2013, but that's two years away. My concern is that they may only offer LTE coverage so far out into the burbs until all of the cities are covered before expanding further into the burbs. Any helpful comments besides agreeing with me that I was taken :mansad:

Thanks,

Paul

May I ask some questions.

Where are you located?

What phone do you have?

And finally who promised you coverage and what kind of coverage were they promising? 4G LTE? 3G? What?

The expansion of 4G LTE network has been changing monthly. There were cities added in 2011 that were not in Verizon's initial list of "coming soon" 4G LTE locations.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

You will find that nothing is certain even especially in the tech world.  You will probably get it later on.

I live in Waldorf, MD. This is located south of Washington DC. When I go to work, to Landover MD which is 27 miles away from my home, my 4G works fine. I have a Samsung Droid Charge. I'm very happy with the phone. A woman in the Verizon Waldorf, MD store made this promise to me. I knew at the time there was no way she could make that promise so I don't blame her. It's kind of like buying this phone with Froyo and being told it would get Gingerbread. I was taking a chance there too. Fortunately the phone is getting Gingerbread though I think they should of just skipped it and gone to ICS. Oh well.

I knew there would be better phones coming out in the next few months. However I'm still very happy with the phone.

Dbaps, I understand that you are anxious to get 4G in your area, and regret to hear you were given incorrect information in the store. The representative may have been basing this on information for the whole city, but the best way to tell when 4G will be at your location is to sign up for 4G alerts here. You can enter your exact address and be sent an email once an exact date is determined for 4G to be expanded to your address.

youre not missing much anyway, the 4G networks crashes often and when its available, it cannot stay connected to 4G and usually drops off to 3G anyway...the 4G network will not work until the end of 2013 so youre better off sticking to CDMA for the time being.

im tossing this Nexus and going back to my DINC2...again!
