I live in the Piedmont area of Oakland, and the coverage here is horrible. Exiting the 580 at the Harrison/Oakland Ave exit, the data signal straight up just drops out. At home, I can't even make calls using my phone without standing right next to a window, and even then it's usually better to use Google Voice from my browser to call. My Samsung Galaxy Nexus is constantly wavering between 1 bar and gray bars (no data, just voice, I think that means). When I get to my neighbourhood, if I'm streaming music or anything, it just stops, and it takes ages to get a data signal back (if I can even get one).
