Data Usage and Slow Speed

I just checked the data usage on my bill for my home wireless router. Since I was out of town for part of the month, I thought the 10GB allotted would last the month. The detail surprised me. Four times a day, Verizon does a usage check. Each time is is an average of .05 GB data usage. That adds to 6 GB a month! When I commented on this, they were more than happy to give me a credit on my bill, but not change the fact that Verizon uses more than half of the data usage that I am paying for. Their comment was that since I have unlimited data, it doesn't matter...
