LTE speeds suddenly very slow

I have had service through Verizon's unlimited plan for 3 months and everything has worked great up until last week. Literally overnight my data speed dropped to the point where it is almost unusable. My speed test is registering at 0.09 Megabits download and 16.2 Megabits upload. This problem began 7/27 and has persisted ever since. I originally thought it was due to exceeding the 22 gig data allowance, but a new billing cycle has begun and the problem is still there. The low speeds are consistent throughout the day, so it does not appear to be an issue with network traffic.  ZIP code is 64804. This connection is the only internet connection I have at home. Any help solving this would be great.

Harrison, Tennessee 37341 Cell Service degraded badly from Full bar to in past 6 months now @ 1 dot

First off We have iPhone X, iPhone 6s+, iPad 9.7 with Cell service on it.

Family has iPhone x, iPhone 8, iPads, a few Android devices  etc...

We are an Apple FamilyWe have lived in this Home for over 5 years and I have been with Verizon forever, prior to moving here.

When we moved in we had Cell service at MAX strength.

Over pst 6 months our cell service has degrade to what it is now, ALL BUT NON_EXISTANT!

Now this is both inside and Outside the home and the Tower is 1.5 miles away and since I hve not moved my 4,000 sqft home and from what I can tell the tower has not moved either there must be something that Verizon is doing to degrade the signal.

I keep all the phones for my family updated. I have had the phones to the Verizon and Apple store and neither have identified issues with our phones so again, there must be something that Verizon is doing to degrade the signal.

I have spoken to others in the area with Android as well as more Apple products and they all have the same story.

Verizon service has degraded to the point to where I am looking at changing providers as well as recommending others do the same in the area and then Verizon may take notice of the situation!

I can go to my family inCleveland where we have always had a full bar and strangly we still have a full bar when there but again we return home and anywhere we are we no have just 1 dot or less!

I have the exact opposite problem fast Downstream but slow Upstream. Many times when I try to stream live on YouTube I get an error telling me that I don't have enough Upstream bandwidth.

I have had Verizon for 6 years and never had a problem with my connection or data speed. Now suddenly, after switching to an unlimited plan its impossible to load a web page or check. My email or do Christmas shopping online. I can’t even order a new phone from the Verizon website. The most I can get is two bars. Previously I had worked from home and had 4 bars all the time. My zip code is 94806

I do not have access to wifi at my house. I use the phone as a mobile hotspot  with my PC frequently because of this. I also browse the internet on my phone as well for things like Facebook, Youtube and shopping on Amazon. I usually do not have the hot spot active if I am browsing the internet on my phone. But the speed issue is present regardless of whether or not I am using the hot spot.

Evan_bass,

I wanted ask if you could run the speed test and send the screenshot to us? I want to see what speeds the phone is reading.

We certainly want you to enjoy the best speeds possible, evan_bss. You indicate that you only experience this issue at home and service improves when you are in other areas. My resources indicate that several factors outside of our control can impact indoor service (please review this link: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/troubleshooting-wireless-signal-coverage-video/ ).

Does your service improve if you step outside and power your phone off/on to reset the connection to the network?

your not the only one with this issue I'm at 20657 and I'm having the same problem but if I go closer so the capital of my county the speed is blazing fast.  and from what I understand Verizon avoiding it all together.

They only tell people there is no problem or other excuses when I think they either limit bandwith on pourpose or there are just to many people in my area and all the bandwith is used up.  But seeing as I get home around midnight and it still as slow as it was before I'm starting to just blame verizon.  I dought they will keep this customer past 2018

Same issue from 20772 to 20685. Fast.com reports 4mb to 400kb. This has been the case for weeks. I've tested at stoplights with full bars the entire drive home. Other Verizon users show the same speeds when I've asked them to test.

I appreciate these details. I know using your data without any issues is a must! I will be happy help. I reviewed the zip codes you provided and I do not see any current alerts. Let's dive deeper into this. How far do you have to travel before data service improves? Any other users in the same area having the same issues with data?

We want you to be able to enjoy fast speeds wherever you go, and especially at home, SKJDBOBBY. I understand speeds improve as you leave the area. When did this start? I did not see any current alerts in your zip code. How far would you estimate you travel from your home before speeds improve?

I appreciate you ruling out your the 22GB threshold, evan_bss. Have there been any changes to the area since you noticed this change on 7/27/17? As you travel away from this area, how does this impact your data speeds?

I get 3.50mb download and 32mb upload. This is a joke on a Razer Phone 2 for a LTE+ in Lubbock Texas

Lucky you.  Start Unlimited gave me 1/300th that speed.  Useless.  Instead of offering a plan that isn't a plan, just be honest with your customers.  Drop Start Unlimited and only provide usable plans.

BTW, 5G is a dream.  You won't have it rolled out until 6G is a thing.

Your speeds seem to be normal. Are you experiencing issues indoors or outdoors? Do you know if other Verizon Wireless users are having similar issues?

When I leave my house, it usually improves. A speed test I just did that was across town from my house (about 11 miles from home) was showing 4.97 megabit download and 0.13 megatbit upload. There haven't been any changes that I noticed. However, it might be notable that there was a small thunderstorm that blew through my area around the time this issue started on 7/27.

Thank you for the helpful information, evan_bss. We're glad to hear data improves when you leave your home. Does anyone else have similar issues when at your home? Any issues with calls or text? What is the make and model of your phone?
