Posting in hopes to finally get Verizon to actually do something, though my hopes are low and my thoughts of ending a 25-year relationship with them are increasing day by day.
We have a home on Lake Wateree in SC. The ZIP is 29180 (Winnsboro) but that’s a little misleading as to where we actually are on the lake. The lake, especially the northern end, has become famous on social media for poor Verizon service but somehow their false-advertising GIS maps show that we have 100% uninterrupted 4G coverage. That is an absolute lie. On any given day in any given weather conditions I cannot reliably complete phone calls, send texts, or any of the other features for which I pay premium dollar. All the while parked right in the middle of an area that claims solid red 4G coverage. It’s not a terrain or impedance issue as they may claim because ITS A LAKE! The whole area is flat.
ATT CUSTOMERS DO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. My wife’s work phone is ATT and thank God it is because it’s our only savior when we are down here. If this can’t be handled soon-ish, me and the other 8 lines on my account may have to switch.
Hopefully there’s help to be found!
If it works, here’s a link to the false coverage map, current as of 1/1/2024

We know how important it is to have your service working, and we are here to help out. In this case, large bodies of water such as lakes, can create issues with your signal. When did this issue start? Besides this area, are you having issues anywhere else?

The issue has been there since we’ve had our home, so at least 2 years. Older locals will tell you Verizon is terrible on the entire lake. It’s pretty hard to blame the lake when your competitor has great signal.

I don't know if this is because Verizon doesn't have towers close enough or they need to be upgraded and haven't been able to do so for whatever reason, but because every carrier doesn't have towers all in the same place and each carrier's network has its own quirks, no one provider is going to work equally well for everyone. If AT&T works better in your area, it's time to port. Unfortunate for Verizon, but hopefully you'll get better service.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Agreed, and if they don’t do something soon that’s exactly what I’m doing.
