My 4G Device Makes an Excellent Paperweight!!

No my 4G device doesn't receive picture messages, connect to my computer so I could play music, nor does it ever seem to get 4G, depite me living in the largest and most covered city in the entire US. (Thanks hours of Customer Service Support :smileywink: )

That's all in vain though, because today I discovered that my Droid Charge is NOT a completely useless plastic piece of industrial garbage. It can actually support a stack of up to about 400 pages of A4 paper, and I've received tons of compliments. Thank you Verizon!!

Is sounds like you are having some problems with your Droid Charge. Has this been the case since you got the Charge? Do you happen to get any notification when pictures are coming through? Are your other data services working (browser, email?)

I'm not sure what you mean by not being able to plug it into a computer to listen to music. Do you have music stored on the phone? Please elaborate.

Here is a great, helpful link that gives support for the Droid Charge.

Hi Tamara,

I've spent literally dozens hours on the phone with Verizon to help "fix" these problems but all I've gotten was a SIM card which didn't help, and lots of over-the-phone homework that ended in a quick and temporary fix to each problem (phone resets and "we'll call you back" 's).

Yes, both myself and a family member have had these same problems since we've gotten the devices. At this point I'm thinking my device is defective and would like to trade it in for something that works. Something that actually has "blazing fast speeds" and a signal that holds for longer than 15 mins. Something that can effectively deliver and send picture messages in less than 24 hours (those are my average blazing fast speeds if it does happen to work). So now I pay $400/yr for a defective device because of Verizon's refusal to admit the problem, and the fact that's it easier for them to hang up a phone than actually give quality customer service.

I would really love a working phone, but I don't expect it to happen before my 2 year contract is up and I switch to another provider.

Message when picture message is received (when device is connected to 3g, 4g or wifi): "Currently unable to download. Please try again later." "Unable to view" or it will be "Pending" for days even. Messages I send almost always inevitably fail in the end. I live in Midtown Manhattan and travel to other areas which are known for excellent service. I do restart my device multiple times a day, this aids the 3g/4g issue for 20 minutes, then I'm forced back to using wifi.

Thanks for reading, and hope to hear from you soon,

Paperclips2.

P.S. There seem to be a lot of people in the same situation:

Hi Tamara,

I've elaborated on my problem back in September, but still have not received an answer at all? I guess as long as I'm bound to this bill, Verizon no longer "needs" to appease those with defective devices...

What ever happened to "We Never Stop Working For You?"

"support" before or after you/Samsung, sent out the update to Gingerbread that destroyed a great deal of the pleasure and functionality of our phones rather than enhancing it?
