Please explain "temporary" 5-user wireless profile on 4510L

I've read the PDF of the manual for the 4510L and am a bit confused. It says that you need to connect to the hotspot using a web browser, open the administration pages and change the profile from "Secure" to "temporary" whereupon the SSID changes to something with "temp" in the name and the a new, temporary encryption key supporting 5 users is generated. You then LOSE access using the key you have been using up to that instant, since the profile is now changed. Just how temporary is "temporary"? At what point does it get reset - after power off? Reset? After a certain period of time? Only when you go back as ADMIN and change the profile back to "secure"? I'm kinda confused by all this, and wonder what the value of generating a "temporary" profile is vs, just having the default profile support 5 users, and then going and changing the key by yourself if you want to stop sharing. Seems overly complicated.

I am very sorry my initial response was not thorough. The Temporary Hotspot profile is pre-set on your device. It generates a temporary network name (SSID) and network key so you can allow others to connect to your device without having to change your secure profile's security settings. The profile remains in effect until it is change back to "Secure" through the Admin page.

Thanks again,

The address you are looking for is 192.168.1.1 for the admin page. There, under the "Security" tab is where you can modify the settings you are describing.

Thank you for responding to this topic; however you have not addressed my question, which is:

Just how temporary is "temporary"? At what point does it get reset - after power off? Reset? After a certain period of time? Only when you go back as ADMIN and change the profile back to "secure"?
