I know this is a result of the awful firmware with the device and want to see if anyone has figured out a fix.
My Samsung SCH-LC11 unit locks up and Green Light under the WIFI button stays constantly lit. In the manual it says that it is in Standby mode.
How do I get this to stop ?
I have a mifi 4510l that does the same thing. It goes dormant and my Droid X cannot wake it up from its dormant state. All my other devices seem to wake it up out of its dormant state with no issues. What devices are you using? Verizon tech couldn't do anything for me, even though they incountered the same issue when they tested the two devices together. Let me know if you get anywhere with this issue.
Based on the user manual, simply press the power button to get it out of standby mode. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the device will go into standby mode. Please view the link below for access to the user manual:
If it's anything like the 4510L or the other USB modems it will go into dormant regardless of if there is activity or not, it also will not come back out of dormant until like Kelly said you hit power button. Very annoying and keep alive will help but not stop it, I have seen my device go dormant while in middle of downloading a web page.
This is extremely frustrating and the access point, for all practical purposes shuts down mid stream. I tried setting the option to never go to sleep (didnt work) and also tried upgrading the firware (upgrade failed wthout reason). Overall, I am thinking of throwing this thing back at Verizon and moving to Sprint!!
Support Rep - this is not going to sleep in 30 mins. Read the message, this is going to sleep mid stream and is unable to be woken up by the fact that there is an active connection request. Its a firmware defect!!
Having the exact same issue here.
Just got one of these and after 30+ min of constant (Streaming) use it goes into standby mode and even holding the power button down does not bring it back. I set the timeout via the web admin tool to an hour & no change.
It will not come back online using the power button.
Power cycling has been the only way to fix this.
