***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Beginning the evening of Sunday 12/4, both Communities will be placed in read-only mode. You’ll still be able to visit the Communities and browse content, but login will be disabled. Server is across the country

My ping latency is showing anywhere from 300 to 400mps. It appears that my router is using a server located in Florida; I'm in Washington State. This appears to be causing some issues with streaming. WHY am I using a server that's across the country?
