Slow 4g speeds in NYC

I have the verizon unlimited plan and an iPhone 7+. I am only getting .5-1 mbps in midtown Manhattan. I am confused why I can only get 3g/2g speeds in NYC when I got better service and faster speeds in rural Indiana with the same plan and phone. Is there a way to troubleshoot this issue?

Having access to LTE is crucial as we do so much via the internet on our devices these days. There are a few things that could be affecting your service and signal strength. Here is a link that will go over that more in detail http://vz.to/2pNg2Bt. Also, here is a link that will give you some troubleshooting steps http://vz.to/2pTrcBE. Is the issue in a specific location? Is the issue indoors only?  Is the area heavily congested?

The issue is both inside and outside. I have slow speeds in NYC and in NJ on the train when I travel home. So, the slow speeds are in both congested and non-congested areas. Other carriers and assuming other verizon customers have service on the train because every other person that sits by me is streaming video. My work phone that is also verizon has faster data speeds than my personal phone, as well. I carry them both in the same areas and only my personal phone has the slow speeds.
