Still do not have 4G since October

Hi all,


I would like to know when 4G is coming back...if it's coming back. I am currently an owner of the HTC Thunderbolt and haven't had 4G since the outage 1 or 2 months ago. Is there anyway for Verizon to know why I am not getting 4G coverage.


I live in a 4G city (Boston) and I have had 4G in the past. So, what's the deal?

What phone signal are you getting? Go to settings > about phone > network.

Is your phone set up to receive the LTE signal? Settings > Wireless & networks > mobile networks > network mode > select LTE/CDMA

I am more than happy to assist you with your 4G service in your area. The good news is that there is not a 4G outage in the Boston area. To confirm that there is 4G is in your area, you can input your home address into this link to verify.


Once you have confirmed that your home area is covered by our 4G LTE network the next step would be the one that Ann154 suggested in her post. In addition to these steps, I have listed some additional troubleshooting steps for you to try on the Thunderbolt to help restore 4G service. They are as follows.


  • Verify that bluetooth and wifi is turned off when not in use.
  • Uninstall any 3rd party app that manages data signal/service.
  • Confirm that Mobile Network is checked in settings.
  • Data Roaming should be checked.
  • System Select should be set to Automatic.

Once you have confirmed that the settings posted above are correct, please do a battery pull and retest your voice and data service. If the issue persist then please post your findings so I can further assist.
