I have been in MPLS, Salt Lake City and Sacramento in the past 4 days and at all locations with a full 3G or 4G signal the connection keeps dropping every 5-15 minutes and I have to reconnect. Any have any suggestions?

Please tell us what hardware you are using (the LG or Pantech modem, PC or Mac computer, what version of VZAM you're using, etc) so we can help you better.
Basic suggestions are:
1. Make sure you're running the most current version of Verizon Access Manager (VZAM).
2. See if you can take your modem in to a Verizon store and swap it for a new one under warranty. It's possible you got bad hardware.

Uh... Considering your topic is "UML290 keeps dropping..." I think we have the hardware question taken care of.
I was about to remark that your problem sounded like the last 50 topics from Oklahoma, Virginia, Georgia, Everywhere, etc... that we have yet to get an adequate answer for: Why The signal strength fluctuates, & 3G speeds suck?
but your 5 to 15 minute time frame, and geographical spread: Salt Lake to Sacramento, makes your problem unique.
I suspect it's the modem -could be your setup, but I'd go back to the dealer before your trial period is over.

This isn't going to be helpful but welcome to Verizon 4G. You get used to it after a while, my morning routine is reboot computer, unplug and plug modem back in connect and work for anywhere for 1 minute up, then rinse and repeat. Modem has been replaced, many different settings tried, no luck. Basically it's got to be their network as even though DNS still works, it loses the ability to reach new pages, existing connections continue fine. Though now after the most recent batch of setting within the crtl d spot in vzw I seem to be getting totally discconected.
I am somewhere I can't get anything else, so I am thankful for the 4G, but boy if I had any other option at all......

Look, I have loaded the most recent software on 2 different computers (one of which is a high end Toshiba, the other an older Dell - no difference in results), and used two identical devices in 3 locations so far, including areas of weak coverage and areas of good coverage. It's not the devices or the computers. It sounds like it's not where in the country you are. The use of 4G modems is subject to frequent, random drops in connection. This condition, if it persists, renders the service basically unusable. I never had any problems of this nature with the 3G modems we just deactivated. Verizon needs to do something about dropped connections. I am curious to see if the signal is still on so I can post this...

justabiologist, I understand you have the latest software in use. There has also been a new firmware released as well, and an update to VZ Access Manager. I recommend brining your laptops (both Dell and Toshiba) where this data can be updated for you.
Thanks,

Return the device and eat the cancellation charge. I've been dealing with this since late December last year - for all the research and upgrades and changes I've made nothing works. I finally got a permanent "WMC604" error message and went with Comcast cable.
Verizon will never admit the inadequacies of the device and programming and for as much contact as you make with customer service, they'll always say "call our tech support so we can troubleshoot." Problem is they don't have anyone in tech support who can take this issue to the depth of problem-solving it needs.

If you go to cnet and search for this device and read the reviews, it's awful. Verizon should be ashamed of this {word filter avoidance}
and let us go back to our old 3G, until they fix it.
It is fast? YES..BLAZING...the 30 seconds a day it works.
If you are within your 30 days, return the device.
