Verizon turning away from CDMA?

A key feature of android on my Incredible is the option of switching between 3G and CDMA.  With the 4g announcement, has Verizon decided it will not be developing CDMA beyond what it already has in place?

Verizon will be supporting their 3G network for many years to come, since not everyone will immediately transition to 4G and the voice calls will still be carried by the current network until VOIP is worked out on the LTE technology.
