Well, what a let down.

Up until today I had been very excited about the coming Verizon 4g service. I had read all the hype and believed every word of it, But to find out they are putting a 5 or 10 gb cap on a service that they say you can download HD movies with is silly. I have had Verizon 3g service for a few years and enjoyed it for what it is, and hated it for the cap. I was hoping they would allow a much larger cap with 4g, But I guess not. With a these caps, Verizon has accomplished nothing. I don't need more speed to down load no more than I would have anyway.

Oh, but with that extra "fee" we're gonna have to pay, it's to "build the network" that will be capped... on our backs.  Huh, where'd all of their profits go.

So sick of Verizon.  They used to have amazing customer service and were somewhat fair with their pricing.

you are exactly RIGHT!!!  Same with me, I even read by VERIZON once that "4g costs us about 1/2 - 2/3 the price and yet they come up with 50 bucks for ONLY 5GB a month!!!  Seriously??????  What a bunch of crap.  I can't wait until other companies are around my area.  I'm stuck living in the sticks with no options but this.  Verizon, do you know how frustrating it is having to check my usage almost DAILY because it's the only internet available??  I was excited too, thinking "man, wouldn't it be awesome for 50 bucks even to get maybe lets say 10GB!!!!"  5GB is a joke... Very bummed to say the least:smileysad:

The should be no cap for 3g or they can get sued for false advertisement.  I think that it is stupid for any company to put a cap on data plan.   I will not get a 4g phone unless they offer a unlimited data plan for $30 or less.  If i need to I will have no problem switching to T-mobile.

How so?  I think that it is stupid for any company to put a cap on data plan. Spend a few Billion and build your own totally unlimited network!  I will not get a 4g phone unless they offer a unlimited data plan for $30 or less.  If i need to I will have no problem switching to T-mobile. See ya, hope you like T-mobile.

So you're upset that a service that is more widely available geographically is more expensive (and in your situation, the only option)?  If Verizon didn't cover the "out in the sticks" ares, then I'm sure there price would be cheaper, but then you would be in the same boat as you are with the other providers.  Be grateful that at least you have an option in your area.  I'm not even sure why the 4G pricing now upsets you since, if you're in the sticks, it's probably not available to you.

Pricing has dropped on 3g service over the years. 4G is still new and VZW is still fronting the cost of getting the network set up. So while it isn't as good a deal as many people are wishing right now, I expect that allowances may increase at a later date.
