What is this 4G LTE odd house symbol?

A strange looking "house" symbol shows up next to the 4G LTE network signal indicator when I'm at a particular office building.  When this happens, I lose all network connectivity, although I still have phone and text capability.  Does anybody know what this means?  And how do I get my connectivity back?

The building might be using a network extender to boost the call signal quality indoors.
