I subscribe to the Verizon Wireless hotspot for my Samsung Galaxy SIII. I have unlimited data in my plan. No data was transferred at all when using the hotspot on this phone to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Both devices worked fine when I got home and used my home wireless (also Verzion FIOS).
I think there is definitely some throttling going on. Long ago I used to be able to stream Netflix movies to my Tab 10.1 through my hotspot on my phone. That has not been possible for quite a while.
Verizon is not keeping its infrastructure up to date with demand. I hope Google puts it out of business for this Internet business. This is disgraceful!
When is Verizon going to start investing in sufficient infrastructure to meet current demand?
Verizon reserves the right to throttle unlimited data users, and has nothing to do with their infrastructure not keeping up with demand. This is Verizon's way of virtually forcing you into their tiered data structure.
According to the same Network Optimization policy, 4G LTE devices are not affected.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
