After some consideration and research, I opted to get an iPad2 and Verizon MiFi 2200. The plan is to have a a braodband connection to provide connectivity to both my iPads. My wife has taken over my old iPad.
I ordered my MiFi on 3/18. As i prepared to pay for my first bill today 4/7 I see the new MiFi 4G is avaialble. I called Customer Service to see about an upgrade and they informed me that it is not a request they can process because it is out of the 14 day Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.
I spoke to a Manager in their Glendale store, Jason. After hearing my sitiuation, a new customer with a device less than 30 days, Jason offer me the option of buying the new MiFi at FULL price and signing up for a new plan. The current offer on the new 4G device is $99 significantly less than the offer their store Manager offered.
Clearly they take the 14-day Customer Satisfaction Guarantee seriously - ONLY 14 days. After that if you want better service you'd have to pay more than what is advetised.
The Sucess Story in all this will likely be paying to get out of my contract and find another MiFi provider that is concerned about Customer Service for more than 14-days.

I live in an area that has no option for broadband internet sevice other than a Verizon mifi or satellite dish. We have been using a mifi 2200 for about 2 years and it has been OK except for just a few small problems. I recently upgraded to the 4G mifi and can not seem to get it to work. I'm assuming the tech people are not up to speed because of it being so new. I use my investment in Verizon stock as part of my long term care savings. So I have my fingers crossed that they will get their act together.
